No triskaidekaphobic be I!

That's right. I'm not afraid of the number 13. In fact, today is my birthday.
I have a son who is also born on the 13th, (of March).
Sometimes, like today, our special day of the year falls on a Friday too. I once read in a Superstitions book that, if you are born on the 13th, then it is actually your lucky day. (Hopefully, if it's on a Friday, then it's an extra lucky day for you). Who knows?

Anyway, I'm posting my second completed zodiac square from that Zodiac Knits pattern book.

Here it is next to the Libra square. I think my camera is tired of photographing my projects. The flash always seems to pop up and go off now - no matter how sunny it is outside. I tried keeping my hand pressed down on the flash but then it doesn't want to take the photo at all.
So, as a result, I keep getting these over-exposed photos. The Scorpio square is actually a dark orange and black. And Libra is a darker pink and blue. Oh well. Once the squares are all done and put together, hopefully I can get a better photo of everything.

Oh yes! Another thing. I have joined the stitching community at Ravelry I am "beckykelly" there so if anyone wants to befriend me just do it! I haven't even made a post there yet. I have to figure out how it all works. I think I will start with this Zodiac afghan I'm working on. So, please, if you have a Ravelry account, feel free to send me a message! That is, if your not afraid to befriend someone born on the 13th, with a child also born on the 13th, on this Friday the 13th of November! LOL!!!!

Some Beach - Somewhere

As promised Karen has sent me photos of her and Singapore Snape's vacation trip to Pulau Tioman as well as a letter about their trip.

Hi Becky: I’m finally getting round to sending you pictures from Snape’s and my trip to Pulau Tioman, an island off the east coast of Malaysia.

The first one is Snape posing in front of our rustic little cabin. Photobucket

The coconut he’s leaning on was actually really rotten and full of ants. You should have heard him shriek when they started crawling on him. I haven’t laughed like that in a long time.

The second one is Snape waving from Salang beach. Photobucket

The third one is Snape posing on a rock. Photobucket I think it looks like a picture in one of those sexy men calendars. Except that the sexy man is Snape.

And the last one is Snape in a hammock. Photobucket He’s a bit tipsy in that picture, and got a whole lot tipsier as the afternoon progressed. Then he got seasick in the hammock, and ended up throwing up behind a palm tree. He just can’t say no to the fruity tropical drinks.

Anyway, we had a good time. As I mentioned, we went with normal people, and I wasn’t too sure how they’d react to our surly little friend. But they loved him, and even suggested poses for him – for example, the hammock shot was their idea.

Hope you’re doing okay. Take care, Karen

Oh, It's so nice to see some warm sunny beach shots while the temperature here drops to freezing at night.
He looks a little too relaxed on that rock - like he's posed for quite a few too many in that position. LOL!
He's obviously having a relaxing and enjoyable trip. (I still love that swimsuit!!!!!!)

I hope Karen and Snape continue to keep us updated on whatever happens and wherever they get to. Life's a beach sometimes and it's nice to live vicariously when we a bit down ourselves. Thanks Karen!!!!
