Halloween Wiggly Trivets

My Mom passed away a week ago yesterday.

On the way up to Illinois, through five days of waiting by her bedside at the nursing home, and including the trip home I made these Halloween trivets.

The pumpkin trivet is from a pattern by Susan Lowman in her "Hot Stuff for the Holidays" booklet. (Although I did add a nose and changed the colors a bit).

The Franken-wiggly and Dracula-wiggly as well as the love-them-or-hate-them-Candy-Corn-wiggly are all my designs.

My sister embroidered a turkey penny rug for me and I made her a Franken-wiggly to take home too.

Mom was an avid crafter herself and my sister and I were calmly keeping her passion alive even in this saddest of times for us.

My niece made an awesome video of many many photos of Mom and her life and family for the funeral.
