Love Dove Bag and Peace Sign Laundry Duffle Bag

Ah yes. 'Tis the season of Peace on Earth. And so, I bring you my two latest creations...

First I'll start out with the Peace Sign Duffle/Laundry Bag. (Images are clickable for enlargement).
These shots show the "front" of the bag, (although it's round and there really is no "front". LOL!)
In the one shot I tried to get the bottom in there too so you could see it in all it's swirliness.

It's all cotton. Lily Sugan 'n Cream. Very heavy!

This shows the "back" side with the seam going top-to-bottom. Also a loooong strap attached to bottom and then up at the opening just below the drawstring.
The drawstring is a soft heavy rope woven in through crocheted spaces, knotted at the ends, with wooden beads attached. (Similar to my Beatnik Cats backpack).

The last shot shows the drawstring pulled together, the front, with the strap pulled over, and the drawstring with beads too. I crammed everything in that shot including a bit of the bottom! LOL!!

I used bright rainbow colors of alternating stripes. The hand is all done in orange and purple while the background alternates between red, yellow, blue, and a lime green. The tricky part was using a darker orange and purple for the lines on the hands.
I wasn't sure if that would work but it really looks cool!

This bag should come with a warning for those who can barely keep their eyes open in the morning; for it's sure to pop them right out of their sockets if your not careful!!! LOL!!!

Next is the Love Dove bag.
It's made with Red Heart Rainbow colored yarn, black - 'I Love The Yarn' from Hobby Lobby, and a really wild "yarn" that reminds me of those lei necklaces you get in Hawaii. - (Only fake ones, not the beautiful-smelling real ones, of course).

I used a U.S. Love stamp design on one side, and a neat peace sign with a white dove in the upper right on the other side.
I thought it would look good to have white on both sides in the upper right areas as some sort of symmetry.

(I was depressed when my hubby couldn't tell what the dove was and my youngest son thought it was a weirdly distorted IU (Indiana University) logo. Sigh. I thought it was perfectly obvious what it was. :o/
Maybe the bag could be used as a test to weed out all the non-creative, non-imaginative, or OVERLY-artsy (as in the case of my son), people from the rest of us. LOL!!!!

Here's two more shots of it standing up. One side has a crocheted strap closure, the other has a big yellow button attached to fasten it shut.
The dove has an olive branch in it's beak. Another symbol of peace. I attached two leaf-shaped sequins on the ends of the branch.

Let's hope that in the coming year, the white dove will finally get to sleep in the sand, bringing peace on earth at last!!!!
